So here's what happening:
Cade and I have a building lot on Main street in Holden which Cade inherited from his Granpda Hunter. It's a quarter of a block and has lots of big old trees. That's where we were planning on building a house when we move back to Holden. But now Holden town wants to build a new Town Hall and wants it to be on Main Street, but that's really the only piece of land big enough that's not already got a house on it. So they wanted to trade us a piece of land they owned a couple blocks west for that piece of land. At first we were hesitant because that's a good location and it was from the family and the trees are beautiful and huge and we had water meters on it and everything already. But the town offered us a piece of land that is an entire block (so four times bigger than our old piece) and agreed to put a couple water meters on it to match what we already had. We decided we could plant more trees and we liked the idea of having lots more room to build on and have for pasture. Now we are just getting all the contracts set up and making everything official. But this weekend we had to move anything we wanted to keep off the old piece of land before the town starts to build. So we had a lot of work to do: tearing down fences, pulling posts (metal and wooden), taking down the corrals and the loading shoot, and moving all the farm equipment and water troughs. But it turned out to be a fun weekend. My family came over and Jed and Selanie brought the kids so I got out of work by keeping an eye on the kids. Jaylee and Kinley got to sleep over with us Friday night, too. I have some cute pictures of everyone working on Saturday but they'll have to be in another post because I haven't uploaded the pictures from my camera yet. I'll post them soon though.
